About the memorial: Three Stones of Remembrance on the banks of the River Forth, between Old Stirling Bridge and the A9 bridge. In fact the Old Stirling Bridge shown in the photos is not the site of the battle. It is a 15th century replacement for the 1297 bridge, which was a little way upstream at a site never definitively established by historians or archaeologists,
