About the memorial: a small wooden cross with a plaque attached, situated in a hedge on the side of the road. At some stage someone has put a photo on the top, but its faded. It is believed that the cross was erected in the 1960`s as the owner of land states that in 1943 a Spifire crashed on his land and some one from the Polish community as ked if they could put a cross as the pilot died at the scene
