About the memorial: Wood framed metal plaque inside the Church on the left after entering the church. Unveiled by 10th May 1923 by Rev. A. M. Maclean, C.M.G., D.D., Abbey Church Paisley (a native of KIlchoan). Assisted by Rev. T. S. Macpherson, St Vincent Parish Church Glasgow (also a native of Kilchoan) and Rev. J. Smith, M. A., minister of the parish- see The Scotsman - Thursday 10 May 1923. From the newspaper report of the unveiling it may have originally been in either a marble (rather than the current wood) frame or on a marble pattress- if so this element is now lost. By January 2021 the Church is for sale

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
