About the memorial: Large, wooden plaque with pedimented top. Wooden crucifix with metal image of Christ suspended from pediment. Red, velvet curtains suspended from wooden poles flank the plaque. The plaque has one central panel which is flanked by four panels on either side. The central panel displays the names of WWI dead. The top two flanking panels display the dates A.D. 1914 and A.D. 1918. The next two panels are plain. The third pair of panels display the dates A.D. 1939 and A.D. 1945. The fourth pair of panels display the names of WWII dead. A shelf at the bottom of the plaque displays two glass vases on small, wooden stands on which is inscribed a name and dates - J. Whatmore 1922 - 1989 (unclear as to whom this refers). Suspended above the plaque is a large, metal lamp.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.
