About the memorial: Stone of remembrance set on a square pavier topped plinth, with a circular lawn in the centre. A plaque with the dedication is on the front wall of the plinth with black lettering. In 2016 The remembrance site was given a revamp. This involved installing a formal garden of low lying bedding plants leading up to the main remembrance stone with a central path flanked by a long bed of plants on either side. The stone of Remembrance is no longer set upon a square pavier topped plinth being now set directly into the ground. On either side of this stone are recently installed rolls of honour , one for each major conflict . These flanking memorials each consist of black plaques with white lettering listing all the fallen from the town and surrounding villages. The plaques are set into rectangular stone built low walls set at an angle to the main stone. Behind the three parts of the memorial stand three flagpoles.
