About the memorial: To provide and place a memorial tablet on the south wall of the Parish Church of Asgarby, to be of Brass mounted on Oak about one foot six inches by about ten and a half inch, and is to bear the following inscription: "In Memoriam, Private John William Camplin, 10th Batt, Lincs. Regt., who laid down his life in the Great War 1914 – 1818" Faculty Book 14, page 89 (Lincolnshire Archives) Plaque is now at the eastern end of Nave, on corner where Nave narrow’s to join Chancel & it faces north-west. Not on the south wall as stated in faculty. 0.42m wide by 0.26m high and is 0.02m deep with 0.02m frame around plaque.
