About the memorial: A beautiful alabaster slab, purchased by the parents of fallen heroes, has been placed in the chancel of the church, and bears the following inscription: - “To the glorious memory of the men of Aslackby, who gave up their lives in the war. 1914-1919 – Thomas C. Pickering 1915: Henry Green 1915: John Edward Stanton 1917: James Tyler 1917: George E. Duff 1917: Charles Green 1917: Gerald H Barstow 1018: Herbert Gubbins 1918: Ernest Plowright 1918: Russell Green 1918: and James W. Plowright 1918. Erected by relatives and friends, “Faithful unto death.” Boston & Spalding Free Press, Tuesday, 6th April 1920. Erected on the north wall of the chancel 460 x 762mm overall
