About the memorial: Undecorated Latin cross standing on triangular base stone, the whole standing on horizontal rectangular chamfered foundation stone. Undecorated except for dedication in black lead lettering to triangular and foundation stones.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

Ernest Edward Beacroft. Private 124118. 53rd Battalion, Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment). Born Barton-upon Humber, Lincs the son of Herbert and Ellen Beacroft (nee Gouldthorp) of 6 Pasture Road, Barton-upon-Humber, Lincs. Conscripted Lincoln 20th September 1918, appointed 53rd Battalion (Rugeley)21st September 1918 and accidentally drowned while bathing in River Rhine 11th August 1919. Buried Cologne Southern Cemetery. IV.C.6.
