About the memorial: This bell, hung from a wooden frame, came from a french ship captured then used for troop movements and during the return home of 85th foot which meant the remains of the battalion were merged with another. one man survived. two of the guns are in Jamaica flanking a statue of Rodney

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

on the museum card - Chapel bell of the French ship “Ville de Paris”/captured by Admiral Rodney/in the Battle of the Saints, 12th April 1782/The ship was later used as a Trooper/and was lost off the coast of Newfoundland/in a tornado on 19th September 1782/causing the loss of 500 officers and men/of the 85th Foot/(later the 2nd Bn KSLI) legend on the bell is not legible
