About the memorial: April 2012 -Originally vertical rectangular headstone now displaced and lies prone on back. Grey stone with oval top and checks dropping to ogee shoulders, stone narrows below shoulders before widening again toward base. Black lead lettering, heavy staining to top. Rededicated 24th March 2014 by the Rev. Kevin Dyke, Curate of St. Paul's, Morton. Restored by Barnington Memorials Ltd.. of Gainsborough The Friends of Gainsborough Cemeteries and Chapel have been awarded a grant of £500 from West Lindsey Community Chest to repair two headstones in Gainsborough General Cemetery.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
