About the memorial: The memorial is close to the Basra Wall on the Army Parade. A polished black granite stone in the design of a gym vaulting box horse on a wider base platform of the same stone. The top of the memorial is made of sandstone, depicting the lid of the vaulting box. The front face of the memorial has the name of the Corps inscribed in gold lettering below the Corp's insignia - crossed swords below a crown - and motto; key dates reflecting name changes of the Corps are inscribed in gold within red ribbons. The other faces of the memorial are also decorated with the Corps's insignia and the texts of the RAPTC Collect and Corps March inscribed in gold and red lettering. The memorial stands on a square base of flagstones. At each corner is a date-inscribed stone gym-ball, with the four dates being 1860, 1919, 1940 and 2010.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
