Status: On original site
Type: Non freestanding
Location: Internal
Setting: Inside a building - public/private
Description: Altar or Altar Part
Materials:
  • Metal Brass
  • Timber Timber (any)
Lettering: Inscribed on a plaque
Conflicts:
  • Second World War (1939-1945)
About the memorial: Altar Rail with dedicatory wooden board, which has a brass wreath at top centre, and is surmounted by a Latin cross. The Scottish War Memorials Project (see link) seems to me to have mixed up the altar rail, a low bar at which communicants kneel, with the chancel screen.
