About the memorial: This memorial commemorates the residents of Rawmarsh who were killed or missing in the First World War (325 names) and the Second World War (70 names). Cenotaph on raised platform in front of wall. Inscription on the face of the Cenotaph, with names from WW1 and the left and right faces. Panels with inscriptions and names mounted on wall to the right for WW2. Panels on the wall to the left are post WW2. A poppy set into the ground nearby commemorates a restoration in 2009 and a horse trough commemorates the loss of 100,000 horses in WW1.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
