About the memorial: Originally dedicated on 11th November 1926 to the memory of staff who had died in the First World War. Rededicated on 9th May 1950 to include staff who had died in the Second World War. Previously at Eagle Star Offices in Threadneedle Street and Arlington Street in the City of London before being moved to Birmingham in 2015. Bronze Eagle, the badge of the Company, surmounting a bronze plaque with classical figures at each side, a central alcove and two flanking brass panels bearing 50 WW1 names. Decorated with wreaths and swags. Later, smaller, WW2 bronze plaque with 84 names in three columns inserted below.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
