With thankfulness for the gift of their lives and in proud and loving remembrance of Geoffery Morgan Hoyle, Lieutenant 3rd Batt. Sherwood Foresters killed in action at Hooge in Flanders Aug 9th 1915 aged 21 years and of John Baldwin Hoyle Lieutenant 7th Batt. South Lancashire Regt. killed in action near Ovillers-la-Bosselle in France 1st July 1916 aged 23 years youngest and third sons of Edward Lascelles Hoyle & Margaret his wife sometime of Pott Hall in this parish. This tablet is placed here by their parents. “These died in faith not having received the promises but having seen them and greted them from afar.”
