About the memorial: This memorial is part of the holdings of Bridport Local History Society . It is not on permanent display but can be accessed by prior arrangement . White metal plaque mounted on a light coloured wood backboard , rectangular with a convex curved top and small indentations at the bottom corners . A raised ornamental border all round the outside of the plaque . At the top the RAF wings with the letter W and the word MERIT incorporated , then the dedication . The wording appears mechanically incised and is coloured mainly black with some parts in red . Two brass brackets one at each side suggest the plaque was originally mounted on a wall , location unknown , and has been now removed .
