TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND/ IN MEMORY OF/ MAJOR THE HONBLE ALFRED HENRY MAITLAND/ OF THE/ QUEEN'S OWN CAMERON HIGHLANDERS/ AND/ 3RD SON OF THE 13TH EARL OF LAUDERDALE,/ WHO WAS KILLED IN FRANCE IN THE BATTLE OF THE AISNE/ WHILST FIGHTING FOR HIS COUNTRY AGAINST THE GERMANS,/ ON THE 14TH SEPTEMBER 1914.
