About the memorial: Vertical rectangular grey stone with Gothic top falling to straight sides which widen slightly toward bottom, stands on chamfered horizontal rectangular foundation. Slim recessed panel around sides and top has stylised diamond decoration around majority merging with ivy leaf decoration to bottom of both sides. Dedication on raised centrefield in faded black lead lettering.

Born Bonby, enlisted Grimsby and resident New Holland, Lincs. Buried Aveluy Communal Cemetery Extension. G.34.
