About the memorial: Horizontal rectangular stone with square top and checks falling to straight sides which widen slightly toward base. Thin decorative vertical recesses form panels to each side and frame raised centrefield which is undecorated except for black lead lettered inscription

Born New Holland, enlisted Barton upon Humber and resident New Holland, Lincs. Buried Longuenesse (St Omer) Souvenir Cemetery. I.A.90.
