About the memorial: The Lauder Monument at Invernoaden was built in 1921 by Sir Harry Lauder in memory of his son, Captain John Lauder, who died on a battlefield in France. A Rough-faced rubble block with red sandstone steps on grassy knoll. A bronze panel with portrait bust of John Lauder with two Art Nouveau angels. He was the only son of Sir Harry Lauder- the music hall entertainer. He was shot by a sniper. Sir Harry Lauder had bought Invernoaden House and Glenbranter Estate as an engagement present for his son.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
