About the memorial: Stained glass window depicting aircraft engaged in air battle and falling from the sky. THREE LIGHTS. AT THE TOP OF EACH LIGHT IS A DOVE. EACH BUTTERFLY WING HAS THE NAMES OF MEN WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES AND SQUADRON BADGES. WINDOW IS IN MEMORY OF 296 US AIRMEN KILLED FLYING MISSIONS FROM NUTHAMPSTEAD. Duplicated IWM Re4gister entry 40056 and 48431. There is a typed information sheet below the window which marked the 50th anniversary of the end of WW2.
