Edmund Eighth Earl of Cork and Orrery, dedicates this tablet to the memory of his son Robert Edward Boyle, Lieutenant Colonel of Her Majesty's Coldstream Guards. Born the 25th March 1819, he died off Varna, on board Her Majesty's ship Vengeance, on the 3rd of September 1854 in the faithful discharge of a soldier's duty. His father and his country mourn his loss.
