About the memorial: Geographical Marker: Madonna and Child with brass plaque. Originally at the Chapel of St Martin at Tarrant Rushton Airfield, from where the D Day gliders took off. Given by Joseph M Doggett, Field Director of the American Red Cross unit there in memory of the men he served with - it is not clear whether he was referring to Red Cross personnel specifically or to all the service men at the base. I have put stone as the material but as I did not handle the statue. it might be plaster or something similar. It is on the windowsill in the north wall of the sanctuary,
