MAIN PLAQUE: 1914 1918/ THIS PARK/ IS DEDICATED TO THE MEN OF/ THE BOROUGH OF GRANTHAM/ WHO IN THEIR COUNTRY'S/ HOUR OF NEED/ WENT FORTH/ ENDURED HARDNESS/ FACED DANGER/ AND FINALLY PASSED OUT OF THE/ SIGHT OF MEN/ BY THE PATH OF DUTY AND SELF SACRIFICE AND/ THE GATE OF DEATH./ LET ALL WHO COME AFTER/ SEE TO IT/ THAT WHAT THEY STROVE FOR/ PERISH NOT/ AND THAT THESE GROUNDS FOR/ OUR ENJOYMENT BE PRESERVED/ TO THEIR UNDYING MEMORY ADDITIONAL PLAQUE: THIS PLAQUE WAS REMOVED FROM WYNDHAM PARK AND RESTORED BY THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION WITH THE HELP OF LOCAL PEOPLE. IT WAS REDEDICATED BY MAJOR I. C. HANKINSON R.L.C. ON 23RD MAY 1999 (EXACT LINE SPACING UNKNOWN)
