About the memorial: Tree and plaque PD264 DX-X, was a Lancaster I which took off at 1639 for Giessen. Five of the crew were killed in the crash, The rear Gunner became a P.O.W., and F/S. McGladrigan succumbed the his injuries received in the crash. Those who died now rest in Hanover War Cemetery
