ON TUESDAY DECEMBER 11TH 1917 THE BELLS/ WERE RUNG IN THANKFULNESS TO ALMIGHTY GOD FOR THE/ NEWS OF THE SURRENDER OF JERUSALEM TO THE ALLIES/ ON THAT DAY. GENERAL SIR E. H. H. ALLENBY/ ENTERED THE CITY AT THE HEAD OF THE ALLIED FORCES./ THE HOLY PLACES WERE SCRUPULOUSLY RESPECTED/ DURING THE OPERATION. THE HEREFORSHIRE/ REGIMENT AND MANY KINGTON MEN PLAYED THEIR PART/ VALIANTLY IN THE FIGHT WHICH OPENED A NEW/ CHAPTER IN THE DEEPLY MOVING HISTORY OF THE/ HOLY CITY.
