About the memorial: Wall mounted horizontal rectangular highly polished metal plaque attached to slightly larger dark wooden backboard. Inscribed emblem of US 8th Air Force to top left, side view of Liberator aircraft to top centre and squadron emblem to top right of plaque. Dedication below emblems followed by list of names in two columns beneath. Simple Latin cross and letters R.I.P follow names and the name of the sole survivor follows below these. Erection attributation follows at base of plaque. Erected on the north wall of the nave, 350 x 510 x 20mm

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

To the glory of God and in honoured memory of the crew of B24 Liberator 42-95103 of the 579th Bomb Sq, 392nd Bomb Group of U.S Air Force who lost their lives when their aircraft crashed on Wrangle Common 13th July 1944. [names] † R.I.P. S/Sgt Mark Osment was the sole survivor. This memorial plaque was erected by the Lincolnshire Aircraft Recovery Group 9th July 1994 by kind permission of Wrangle PCC.
