About the memorial: Celtic-style wheel cross with tapering shaft surmounting tapering plinth. Plinth bears inscription and names and surmounts a square stone base. Set on a triangular-shaped stone-edged bed of gravel. The church is to the north of North Weald Bassett village, separated from it by the former RAF airfield. The cross is on the path leading to the church.
