About the memorial: To provide and place a Rood Screen of Oak with Rood and Figures thereon in the parish church of St Peter and also to take out from the east window the present plain glass and to insert instead tThat the said Rood Screen & figures are to be erected as a memorial of the Great War and to have the following inscription “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends”.
