About the memorial: That it is now proposed to place on the West wall of said North transept and opposite the said Memorial Crucifix a memorial tablet of carved oak, painted and gilt with three panels containing the names of the fallen, each name painted on a scroll and the following inscription at the foot, namely: “Grant them eternal rest O Lord.” That it is also proposed to provide and place an altar of oak (or deal) at the East end of the said North transept with a tapestry hanging at the back of the altar and to fit up such transept as a Memorial Side Chapel according to the design of Mr. W. H. Wood of Newcastle on Tyne. Approved by the P.C.C. 24th November 1924 Faculty Book 15, page 283, dated 10th March 1925. To remove the War Memorial Tablet which is on the west wall of the North Transept in the Nave and to replace it in a better position on the North wall. Approved at a meeting of the P.C.C. on the 23rd February and 21st April 1934 Faculty Book 17, page 167, dated 13th July 1934
