About the memorial:
About seven years ago a memorial crucifix in memory of the men of the Parish of Winterton who lost their lives in the Great War with a square oak tablet beneath, with the following inscription thereon namely:
This Crucifix was given by the
Sunday School Teachers and Children
in happy memory of the men of this
Parish fallen in the war.
c1918 Was placed on the East wall of the North transept of the Parish Church of Winterton. That the said memorial cross and tablet was erected before our petitioner became Vicar and have remained in their present positions without any objections by anyone, but that no faculty for the erection thereof was obtained.
