About the memorial: About seven years ago a memorial crucifix in memory of the men of the Parish of Winterton who lost their lives in the Great War with a square oak tablet beneath, with the following inscription thereon namely: A.D. 1917 This Crucifix was given by the Sunday School Teachers and Children in happy memory of the men of this Parish fallen in the war. R.I.P. c1918 Was placed on the East wall of the North transept of the Parish Church of Winterton. That the said memorial cross and tablet was erected before our petitioner became Vicar and have remained in their present positions without any objections by anyone, but that no faculty for the erection thereof was obtained. Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.
