About the memorial: Plaque to parishioners who died in the Second Boer War, set into the brickwork on the inside left of the church lychgate. There is an additional inscription above, carved into the wood, giving details of the unveiling. The lychgate was built to commemorate the coronation of Edward VII, and there is an inscription for this on the inside right.
