About the memorial: Brass Plaque originally wall mounted to left of organ. After West Cliff Congregational Church, Skinner Street, Whitby had closed in September 2019, a concerned member of this church visited Whitby Museum to see if anything could be done to save this Church’s war memorials. Luckily members of the Whitby Civic Society War Memorial Group volunteer at the museum and were pleased to be involved in rescuing these memorials which are now proudly displayed above the original Whitby War Memorial Hospital Roll of Honour book. A meeting was held on Wednesday 13th November at the museum with members of the Congregational Church, Whitby Museum volunteers, British Legion and WCS members, to commemorate this occasion.
