About the memorial: To provide and place a memorial tablet on the north wall of the Parish Church of Uffington. The tablet consists of two side panels with a higher central panel, in the centre panel the figure of St. George (Patron Saint of England) in mosaic, his armour in black and gold with a white over tunic edged with red border and a red cross on his breast and at his left side behind is St. George’s standard, in his right hand he holds the sword of justice, his left foot is placed on a red dragon signifying the overcoming of evil. At the foot is a panel in which the inscription will be inserted stating that the tablet is in memory of the men who fell in the Great War, the two side panels are in alabaster with spaces for the names and details of the men who have fallen, the three entire panels have a surround of green Irish marble, and at the head of the two side panels is the following text namely: “Thine, O Lord, is the victory”. That the size of the said tablet is four feet six inch in width and four feet in height at the centre. [1300 x 1780mm on survey.] Faculty Book 13, page 275, dated 17-6-1919
