About the memorial: To provide and place a memorial tablet on the north wall of the nave of the parish church of Tetney near the North door in memory of the parishioners who have lost their lives in the Great War. That the said memorial tablet is to be of Oak with lettering in Black and Gold and is to be about three feet six inches by about two feet six inches. That the said memorial tablet is to bear the following inscription namely: “1914 – 1919 To the Glory of God and in grateful memory of the men belonging to this parish who in the Great War gave their lives for their Country” (Here follows list of names) Faculty Book 12, Page 537, dated 28-4-1920

The actual inscription reads: THIS TABLET IS ERECTED TO THE / GLORY OF GOD / AND IN GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THE MEN / BELONGING TO THIS PARISH, WHO IN THE / GREAT WAR, GAVE THEIR LIVE IN / THE SERVICE OF THEIR COUNTRY.
