OXFORDSHIRE HEAVY BATTERIES (128TH, 132ND, 135TH, 156TH)/ ROYAL ARTILLERY/ THESE BATTERIES WERE RAISED AND RECRUITED/ IN THE CITY AND COUNTY OF OXFORD/ FOR SERVICE OVERSEAS IN THE GREAT WAR./ THEY SERVED IN FRANCE FROM MARCH 1916 UNTIL THE END OF THE WAR/ WITH GREAT DISTINCTION.
