About the memorial: The memorial tablet in the Parish Church was unveiled by Admiral Hutton and the Vicar of Sibsey, standing in for Major J. H. Hadfield, on Thursday 12th May 1921. It was dedicated by the Rev. Cyrus Camplin Coggan, Vicar of Sibsey, former Army Chaplin. The Last Post was sounded by Mr Arthur Jones of Mablethorpe. The tablet executed by Messes Richard Johnson and Sons of Hull is of solid brass with brass lettering excepting for the initials of the names inscribed thereon which are in red. It is mounted on bevelled walnut 2 feet [610mm] wide and 4 feet [1220mm] high with ornamental scrollwork. At the top is a circular Shield with the Union Jack surmounted by a crown and flanked with the flags of the Navy and the Army. The red in the shield and flags, together with the Maltese Cross at the lower corners adds brightness to the general effect.
