About the memorial: On the south wall of the nave is a tablet which consists of a white alabaster ? crucifix, sword and tablet on a black slate? back, which measures at a estimated 1050mm high by 660mm wide, made by W.T.Hale 0f 35 Baker St, London W.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

IN MEMORY OF FRANCIS WOLLASTON HUTTON, ENSIGN IN THE 21ST ROYAL NORTH BRITISH FUSILIERS, (SON OF THE REVD H.F.HUTTON, RECTOR OF THE PARISH) WHO DIED IN THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, COLONY OF BRITISH GUIANA. ON THE 16TH DAY OF APRIL, 1804. AGE 18 YEARS HIS DEATH WAS CAUSED BY INJURIES RECEIVED IN THE DISCHARGE OF HIS DUTY WHILST ENDEAVOURING TO ARREST THE PROGRESS OF THE FIRE WHICH DESTROYED A LARGE PORTION OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN ON SUNDAY APRIL 3RD 1804 THIS TABLET IS ERECTED BY THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN IN TESTAMENT OF THEIR SYMPATHY WITH HIS SORROWING RELATIONS AND FRIENDS
