About the memorial: Vertical rectangular stone with Gothic top, stands on chamfered base. Decorative groove along sides and top, unidentified motif inside laurel leaf circle toward top of stone and this flanked by flower decoration in small triangular panels. Lettering in faded black, part missing toward bottom of stone.

Son of Thomas Rowlett and Martha Sismey of Moulton Marsh, Lincs (Mother stated to be at 6 Victoria Street, Spalding, Lincs on Attestation Paper). Previous service in Royal and Canadian Navies. Commemorated Vlamertinghe Military Cemetery. IV.B.17.
