SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF THOMAS HENRY ELDEST SON OF THOMAS HALL PLUMER ESQ OF THIS PARISH & LIEUT IN THE 49TH REGT OF BENGAL INFANTRY/DIED IN CAMP WHILST SERVING AT THE SIEGE OF MOOLTAN ON 14 DEC 1848 AGED 27/HIS REMAINS WERE CARRIED TO THEIR LAST RESTING PLACE BY SEPOYS OF HIS CO AND INTERRED NR MOOLTAN/THIS TABLET IS ERECTED BY HIS BROTHER OFFICERS TO TESTIFY THEIR FRIENDSHIP FOR THEIR DEPARTED COMRADE
