M.T. / HE JOINED HIS MAJESTY'S FORCES AUGUST 1914 - WENT WITH THE / 29TH DIVSION TO EGYPT, AND THE GALLIPOLI CAMPAIGN, 1914-1915 / WAS INVALIDED HOME - SAW SERVICE IN IRELAND 1916 - AND WAS / THEN SENT TO FRANCE WHERE HE WAS WOUNDED AND DIED AT THE 42ND CASUALTY CLEARING STATION, JUNE 19TH, 1918 / AGED 25 YEARS / BURIED IN AUBIGNY COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, ARTOIS, FRANCE / "GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS" ST JOHN XV.13
