TO THE BELOVED MEMORY OF / JAMES GUBBINS ARCHER-BURTON, / SECOND SON OF THE LATE / LANCELOT ARCHER-BURTON ESQRE / OF WOODLANDS, IN THIS PARISH: / LATE CAPTAIN 6TH DRAGOON GUARDS. / A MAJOR IN THE TURKISH CONTINGENT / AND ASSISTANT QUARTER MASTER GENERAL, / TO THE CAVALRY DIVISION OF THAT FORCE: / HE DIED AT THE CAVALRY CAMP, / NEAR BUJUKDERE, / AFTER A BRIEF THOUGH SEVERE ILLNESS, / ON THE 4TH OF OCTOBER 1855, / AT THE EARLY AGE OF 30 YEARS. / UNIVERSALLY BELOVED AND LAMENTED. / HE SERVED WITH THE LIGHT DRAGOONS, / AND WAS PRESENT AT THE BATTLES OF / MOODKEE, FEROZESHAH AND SOBRRAON, / DURING THE CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE SIKHS. / HIS MORTAL REMAINS ARE DEPOSITED / IN TEH CEMETERY AT BEICOS, OPPOSITE THERAPIA. / THIS TABLET IS ERCTED / BY THE OFFICERS OF THE CAVALRY DIVISION / TO THE MEMORY OF A GALLANT SOLDIER, / AND A LAMENTED
