Colonel Thomas Hutchins, / Major of the Third or King's Own Light Dragoons, / who departed this life in Christian humility and hope, / on the 2nd. of July 1823, aged 44. / The Colonel, officers, non commissioned officers and privates / of the regiment in which he served both at home and abroad / for upwards of 23 years / have caused this tablet to be erected, / in grateful remembrance of his military and social worth, / and as a lasting tribute of their affectionate regard.
