About the memorial: Grey horizontal rectangular stone with oval top and raised shoulder to either side of oval. Flower spray motif at top centre of oval and stone below motif shows raised open book with flat pages. Tasselled rope bookmark down centre divides pages which both show lettering in black lead but are otherwise undecorated. Prayer in black lead lettering beneath book. Black round vase without container to left of stone.

Son of Mrs M A Schofield of Ashwood Villas, Banks Ave, Pontefract, YKS. Born Wakefield, YKS, enlisted Oxford and resides New Headington, OXF. Buried St Sever Cemetery Extension. O.III.J.9.
