About the memorial: Within the churchyard, south of the church. The original and a replacement gravestone: the original now set against the est wall of the churchyard, and the replacement on the grave. Addition to the gravestone of Annie Ford, also commemorating her husband, Charles W. Ford, who was killed in action aboard HMS Defence at the Battle of Jutland, 31 May, 1916.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

In Loving memory of ANNIE The beloved wife of CHARLES W. FORD R.N. And daughter of Lieut. & Mrs Newcombe Who died Feby 11th 1911, Aged 34 years. Peace perfect peace. Allso CHARLES WALTER FORD, Chief E.R.A. R.N. Dearly loved husband of the above Who lost his life on H.M.S. Defence in the Jutland Battle May 31st 1916, aged 38 years. ______ Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends.
