About the memorial: Proposed to provide and place a memorial table on the north wall of the nave of the parish church of Sausthorpe, in memory of the parishioners who lost their lives in the great war, the said tablet to be of Marble and Mosaic about one foot nine inches by about three feet six inches, and is to be inscribed as follows: Faculty Book 14, page 308 Wall mounted horizontal rectangular green marble backing tablet with various tiles attached to front forming slightly smaller rectangle. Dedication in black lettering to top centre in identically formed panel to casualty panels. Five casualty names with one to each side of dedication and three in horizontal line beneath. Each casualty has full details entered in black lettering on several large white tiles which are mounted together to form a separate panel for each man, each panel having a gold coloured badge of the arm of service to the top left corner. The panels are then surrounded on all sides by a double line of gold coloured small mosaic tiles with alternating multi coloured mosaic tiles between. Outside of the outer gold line of each panel is a further single line of small white tiles and all panels are then butted together both horizontally and vertically to give a solid appearance. 540 x 1070 x 40mm

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
