About the memorial: Slate - Basically an oblong of slate standing on a concrete base, the rear is raised slightly higher than the front to shed water and the long sides are mounted at 90 degrees to the monument. It is lightly inscribed and is difficult to read, it is located just to the right of the cross The concrete slab base is 0.9m wide and 1.0m long, the slate is 0.7m wide and 0.8m in length. The wording is an exact copy of the main memorial except that 'May they rest in peace' has been moved from the end of the WW1 names to the base of the slate, after the WW2 name. Beneath this has been added 'We will remember 2001'.
