To the glory of God and in loving memory of Major Matthew Percival Buckle. Distinguished Service Order. Queens Own 1st Royal West Kent Regiment who fell in action near Neuve Chapelle, France on 27th October 1914 while in command of his Regiment. Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori. This tablet is erected by his widow Marjorie Buckle.
