Roll of Honour or Book of Remembrance
- Second World War (1939-1945)
About the memorial:
WW2 Roll of Honour - An oblong with the long sides mounted vertically. There is a slim plain black wooden frame around the whole, this surrounding a pane of reflective glass. Behind the glass is a plain sheet of white paper, and attached centrally to this is a smaller sheet of cream coloured paper which is heavily foxed. This sheet is written upon, mostly in black ink although other colours do show and are heavily faded. Toward the centre of the sheet is a grid pattern with names within, the grid is 3 blocks wide and nothing appears in the third block while a surname and forenames appear in blocks 1 and 2 respectively. At the top centre of the sheet are 3 flags, from left to right these show Royal Navy, Army (Union Flag) and RAF.
0.38m wide by 0.43 high. The frame is 0.01m wide, the inner (hand written) part is 0.28m wide and 0.36 high.
