About the memorial: WW2 Roll of Honour - An oblong with the long sides mounted vertically. There is a slim plain black wooden frame around the whole, this surrounding a pane of reflective glass. Behind the glass is a plain sheet of white paper, and attached centrally to this is a smaller sheet of cream coloured paper which is heavily foxed. This sheet is written upon, mostly in black ink although other colours do show and are heavily faded. Toward the centre of the sheet is a grid pattern with names within, the grid is 3 blocks wide and nothing appears in the third block while a surname and forenames appear in blocks 1 and 2 respectively. At the top centre of the sheet are 3 flags, from left to right these show Royal Navy, Army (Union Flag) and RAF. 0.38m wide by 0.43 high. The frame is 0.01m wide, the inner (hand written) part is 0.28m wide and 0.36 high.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
