About the memorial: Proposed by our petitioner Maud Smith of Knipton Farm, Ruskington to provide and place a memorial tablet on the south wall of the nave of the parish church of North Kyme between the first and second windows from the chancel screen in memory of her husband Harold Ivor Smith who was killed in action in France on the 25th August 1917. That the said tablet is to be of marble and about eighteen inches by about eighteen inches with the following inscription namely: "In living memory of Pte. Harold Smith, 10 Lincs Regt., beloved husband of M. Smith. Killed in action in France, Aug 25, 1917, aged 22 years. R.I.P. Faculty Book 13, page 216, dated 16th July 1918. A tablet has been fixed in St. Luke's church in memory of Pte. Harold Smith, of this village, who fell in action in France August 25th 1917, aged 22 years. Lincolnshire Chronicle dated 1st March 1919

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
